This picture is very deceiving, and isn't a true representation of the product. I bought this a week or two back the last time it was up, and the transmitter unit doe not attach to the top of an ipod where the headphone jack is, but to the bottom where the data port is. I bought assuming that I would be able to use it with other devices (like my iPhone), and based on the picture, that was a logical assumption. Now I just have a POS that can't be used for anything.
Maybe you guys should update the picture to accurately reflect what you are selling.

malogus, I have not researched this product, except to see that it comes in two versions, one top mount, and one dock mount. I do see that it uses power from the i-pod, so it has a four contact headphone plug. The fourth contact is used for power/data. Do not go plugging this sort of headphone/data/power plug into any standard headphone jack that is not designed for it. Not even a Zune, as the pins are wired differant.
You are entitled to a full refund, based on the incorrect description. Good luck e-mail them, they must have a heck of a lot of spam mail coming into their mailbox, it seems many e-mail do not make through the spam filter. Call the number listed in Icravit.com, same company. For assistance, call Customer Care at

oops, got sidetrackked by the headphonne jack knowledge. You got the one with the dock connector. The iphone does not use the same dock connector as the I-pod? I don't know. Even if it was the one with the headphone/power/data plug would it not work on the Iphone, because the jack is recessed, and the pin connections/function may not be the same?

malogus, you may be able to connect bluetooth from your i-phone directally to the reciever half of this unit, without using the transmitter half. Do I-phones have bluetooth?
Many units of this type, that is with dedicated transmitters, will only connect to their own transmitters. Like my McAlly headphones with 3 contact headphone plug dongle. It was made for use with an i-pod and had a plastic bump on the bottom that fit into a recess on top of the i-pod to secure it. But since it only has the standard 3 contact plug, and does not interface with the data/remote functions of the i-pod, it can be used with any mp3 player or standard headphone jack, like my computer. My nokia 6126 phone can see it when i try to pair them, again just to the reciever/headphones half of the unit, but my phone will not connect to the headphones.
I have another bluetooth headphones set by IOGear that is similar, headphone plug transmitter dongle/transmitter. Both headphone sets have a removable mike on a boom too. My phone will pair up with the IOGear headphones and play music through them.
So try to pair up the reciever with your I-phone, and see what happens.

correction: My Macally B.T. headphones do not have a removable boom mike. Maybe that is why they will not pair up with my phone. They are only for music from the included transmitter dongle. They do have full sized, folding earcups, and a line out jack on the headphones to connect to powered speakers or stereo, to send music from the mp3 player with transmitter attached, which is in your pocket to the headphones with speakers plugged into them across the room. However, if I was in the same room, I would plug the mp3 player into the speakers with a wire because it sounds much better.
These headphones are usless for using while watching t.v. also, because within the g$#$& sized chunk of electronics in the transmitter, after you allow for the size of the 2 aaa batteries in there too, there is enough computerized prossesing going on to delay the sound for a half a second, which puts the voices out of synch with the t.v. picture.
Now that I have taken you on a tour of the Everglades, while providing narration from Seaworld, the conclusion is that:
A} the BlueTrip that you thought you were getting, probabily would'nt plug into your I-phone, due to the different headphone jack.
B} It still may work, if you can connect via Bluetooth.
C} Do your research before you buy something.
D} Let us know if you get it to work, I didn't waste my day talking to a wall.

I was able to get my laptop to connect to it through bluetooth, which is a start. especially since I can use my iphone to control my itunes on my laptop. Basically a circular way of doing what I was trying to do in the first place. Basically you can connect any bluetooth device with A2DP service to this thing and play the audio. The iPhone currently doesnt have A2DP, but I wont dig into that right now...
thanks for all your info.
