Description
The DWLG820 Wireless Gaming Adapter works with any Ethernet-ready game console, making it ideal for both head-to-head and online gaming. Use Wireless Gaming Adapters to connect two game systems to each other or use one to connect your system to a wireless network.
Features
- You can use the DWL-G820 Wireless Gaming Adapter to make any Ethernet-enabled device, such as a media set-top box, wireless. The DWL-G820 is a true plug & play device that requires no configuration and is ready to work right out of the box.
- The DWL-G820 Wireless Game Adapter is also highly configurable, using any Java-enabled Web browser. With support for several advanced features including Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) and 128-bit WEP encryption, the Wireless Gaming Adapter also protects your wireless signal.
- The DWL-G820 Wireless Gaming Adapter uses D-Link 108 Technology for data transfer rates that are 15x faster than standard 802.11b rates* and works with all 802.11g networks. The device is also backwards compatible with 802.11b wireless networks. This Gaming Adapter provides lag-free performance & allows your gaming console to join your wireless network.
- Up to 108Mbps (When used solely with D-Link AirPlus Xtreme G products. Maximum wireless signal rate derived from IEEE Standard 802.11g specifications. Actual data throughput will vary. Network conditions and environmental factors lower actual data throughput rate.)
- Ideal for Gaming Consoles
- Head-to-Head or Network Gaming Modes
- Plug & Play Installation

Strengths: speed
Weaknesses: compatability, customer service of d-link
Summary: This gadget can be quite easy to set up if you have a d-link router. Fortunately I have one so it was ready to go out of the box. For a novice person, it may be quite difficult to set up this device to work through another type of router. I have still not been able to set up encryption through it. This may be operator error however.
D-link is really good at helping you find something to buy, but they are quite weak in helping you after you have bought something. Do not email them technical questions as they will not answer. If you need tech help, call only.

how about some reviews? we saw a boxxer with a bad one - can we get one or 2 others in here to see what people think of the product? 500 points to the first 3 reviews
Pros: At first I just plugged this into my 360, and used it without thinking. Worked great for streaming music locally, downloading market place goods etc. Has great range too, picked up several networks in the area.
Cons: It wasn't until I noticed my NAT at strict that I suspected a problem. When I changed from WEP to WPA I got a Open NAT, problem solved. In order to change the security on this, you will need to log into it, setting your PC's IP to a specific address. This could be an issue for casuals unfamiliar with such a process. The GUI on the bridge is also pretty terrible, not displaying pages correctly, and getting stuck in refresh loops.
Other Thoughts: NAT issue could have been my router.

These things are worthless, if you have wireless security enabled, don't bother. I followed the instructions exactly and it never could connect.

I dont have this game adapter, but i have the linksys one, it works with my 360 and I can do anything on live...the only thing with game adapter is that I cant figure out how to connect it to my computers harddrive to play music or pictures off it...It might just be because its a game adapter instead of a wireless port

A little better one
D-Link Wireless Gaming Adapter
Strengths: Cost, ease of installation
Weaknesses: Runs hot
Summary: Very easy to configure even if you are not using a D-Link Wireless Router. A new feature automatically scans for available wireless signals and lets you choose which one to connect to and then sets itself up. Works great with our Xbox and Xbox 360. Same and compact for taking on the road. Will save you a lot of money over the Microsoft wireless adapter.

Not what I had hoped
Strengths: None so Far
Weaknesses: Extremely hard to configure
Summary: It took me several attempts to configure this adapter for use with my PS2 and Xbox 360. I finally got it to work with the PS2 but it still does not work with the Xbox 360. I am using a Dlink DI624 router so you would think that it would be a snap, wrong! As I continue to tinker with it, I will update this review.
