5 of 5 Awsome keyboard & mouse set Thursday, May 10, 2007
A Customer from Los Angeles, California
Great feel to keys and the anti-microbial feature really makes the keyboard feel clean. I also like the calendar and clock. Also the mouse has the forward and back buttons on the thumb which is convenient. Overall the best keyboard and mouse I've owned. Only real draw back is having to deal with Logitec's rebate center. They have terrible support.

This is my fifth Logitech keyboard/mouse combination, and overall I'm very satisfied with it. The keyboard layout is very intuitive and offers programmable features accessible via a special Fn key. Tactile response is terrific. The mouse works beautifully, and although I don't use it's built-in zoom feature, having extra programmable buttons for multimedia use is a plus. Speaking of zooming, the touch sensitive zoom slider on the side of this keyboard is more of an annoyance than a useful tool. Because of it's location, it's too easy to activate when not actually typing something, so I'd suggest simply turning it off.
5 of 5 Great product Friday, November 17, 2006

This a great product. I have had it for 6 weeks. The keyboard has good tactile response, lays flat, and is very comfortable. The mouse feels good and is very precise. The 2.4 MHz wireless link is flawless. I like the built in wrist pad, something that many other keyboards lack. This is a well designed, high quality product. I have their Logitech Harmony 880 TV Remote control, and it also is an excellent product. That quality led me to the MX3200. I highly recommend this desktop if you want the best.

Great keyboard., December 12, 2006

------------------- Review edited: May 30, 2006 ----------------------
EDIT: Downrating from 4 to 2 stars.
Reason: Durability and longevity.
Rough timeline:
P = Purchased product
P + 1 month = One key stuck, went away
P + 3 months = A few keys starting to stick
P + 5 months = One button is completely stuck
P + 6 months = Keyboard died completely. No amount of battery changes, receptor/keyboard refreshes, driver reinstallation, etc would bring it back to life. I'm starting to become disenchanted by wireless products. I've already replaced the wireless mouse with a wired one, and I'm debating doing so with the keyboard. I might give Microsoft keyboards a chance.
--------------------- Original review below -------------------------
My girlfriend gave this keyboard to me as a gift set with the HP f2105 monitor (which I have also reviewed). I ended up attaching my laptop to a dock and closing it, and generally use this logitech keyboard and mouse with the monitor.
The mouse is excellent - it is nearly the same as the MX600 laser mouse I used previously, except that it does not have the e-mail and instant messaging buttons that were on the MX600. It has also has a darker tone. The keyboard is great, though it doesn't have as nice of a "spring-back" as some other keyboards. Even so, I think it works excellently. The extra features are, once again, nice to have, though the dynamic search and zoom on the left side is very easy to activate. It is somewhat annoying to have my text zoom to 400% when I merely brush my sleeve across my keyboard. To solve this, I ended up uninstalling SetPoint. Less drivers, less headache. Nyways, who needs all those buttons? They are nice to have and use, but I believe that most people will end up forgetting about them after the first few days of excitement. The glossy black trim along the top, bottom, and left side are very attractive, and while they are fingerprint magnets, I never touch those areas much, so they stay
pretty. (My sleeve also helps polish the glossly black finish on the dynamic search and zoom, so I never need to worry about that side).
All in all, a great keyboard, even though I just noticed that the volume down image is slightly off-printed on my keyboard. No biggie. Thanks Amazon Reviews, for helping me find all the previously unnoticed imperfections in my products.
Highly recommended.

Very pleased despite a few issues, February 9, 2007

This is by far the most advanced keyboard I have ever had. I am usually against things like this with all the fancy buttons and extras but I like the way this is set up and find them to be useful here. It is rather complicated to get it all set up but, as I said, I'm not used to keyboards with all the bells and whistles that this one has. The keyboard itself is very nice. I find it very comfortable and very quiet. It is unlike any keyboard I've had with how quiet it is and if you are used to a keyboard that came with your computer then you'll find it amazing.
I do have a couple of issues that I don't like though. First, the LED display is almost worthless. It is almost impossible to see at the angle you will be viewing it at. Unless you are viewing it straight on, which you will never be doing as you type, then it is awful. You would think that everyone would know how to produce a good LED by now.
The second issue, and most significant one for me, is I still haven't found an f-lock key and must press the FN button in unison with the F key to get the advanced features I programmed into it. I haven't owned this for more than a day and I may be looking in the wrong place but it isn't easy to find if there is an f-lock. I almost never use the F keys on a keyboard so this is bothersome.

Full of Functionality, Feels Good on Your Fingers, March 14, 2007
By Simeon Hein "Planetary Intelligence author" (www.OpeningMinds.info, Boulder, CO, USA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I purchased the MX3200 keyboard/mouse combo as a replacement for my older Logitech Keyboard Duo, about 8 years old, and the MX3200 seems light years ahead of that model. The keys are much smoother and softer on your fingers. There a many specialized keys on this keyboard and I find that if you take the time to learn them, they can save a lot of extra mouse work on your part. I especially like the little "X" key on the left hand side of the keyboard, next to the search and "document flip" keys, which acts to close the top window that is open on your desktop. The document flip key, as it is called, let's you instantly switch which of your software applications are on top and it's useful.
No doubt, it takes a little time to get used to the enlarged delete key above the cursor keys. But the overall keyboard layout is sensible and natural. The programmable function keys are about half the size of previous keyboards but they are functional. The little volume and play/stop keys at the top are really small but I've gotten used to them. Now about the built-in clock: I've read a lot of complaints that it isn't backlit. I think a backlit clock would use more battery life. Personally, I like it the way it is: it is visible from a standard typing position but not too apparent. It blends in with the black color of the keyboard. Who wants to look at a clock all the time anyway? Sure it could have some more functionality, but then you would staring at the keyboard all the time which isn't where your eyes are pointed when you type.
The dynamic search and zoom slider on the left is a new feature and potentially useful but takes some getting used to. The VoIP button on the lower right is a nice feature that I use often. You can answer or hang-up your internet phone right from the keyboard. The wrist-rest has a soft, rubberized feel and is apparently made with anti-bacterial silver crystals as is the rest of the keyboard and the mouse surface.
There are no caps/num lock lights on the keyboard itself, but this information shows up on-screen using the included Logitech Setpoint software, which is easy to install and set up.
The mouse is considerably better in terms of tracking/motion, than previous mice I've used. It's smooth and feels good in my hand. It has an on/off switch to save battery life and a battery life indicator on the top of the mouse that stays lit for only a few seconds when you turn it on. (Again, a battery-saving feature.) I like the forward/back buttons on the side of the mouse, but the zoom buttons on the top are a bit small and too close to the web search button next to them for my taste. The glowing red tracking light is gone replaced by an invisible beam. I liked the red glow of older mice but this invisible beam probably saves battery life too. The scroll wheel has side-scrolling capability which is handy when looking at wide web pages.
Another neat new feature, is that the mouse and keyboard automatically connect to the USB base unit, which looks like an oversized flash-memory stick and has no lights on it. You don't have to connect and reconnect the keyboard/mouse every time you disconnect the base unit from your computer. This is a big improvement. The keyboard/mice have no problem connecting to the base unit four feet away from my computer.
Overall, this keyboard/mouse combo will take some time for you to learn to use all of its features and functionality, but both units work very well, feel good to the touch, and basically make computing more fun and efficient.
